O'Leno State Park in Florida preserves both a distinctive natural landscape and the memory of a vanished town. Once the community of Keno, later renamed Leno in 1876, the settlement declined after the railroad bypassed it, and the park’s name came to mean “Old Leno.” Along the Santa Fe River, the park is known for a natural land bridge created when the river disappears into a sinkhole and reemerges 3.5 miles away at River Rise Preserve State Park. Much of the park’s built environment dates to the 1930s, when the Civilian Conservation Corps constructed many facilities, and the area also includes diverse habitats, wildlife, trails, and campgrounds.
