In the calm but treacherous waters of Lake Superior, sixteen lives have been lost since 1961. The memorial honors those lives and the lives lost before them, and calls for the knowledge of this danger to prevent any further deaths, with the warning: “When in doubt do not go out.” It is dedicated in loving memory of Toni Copeland, Mike Nunnally, and Cassiano Huckabee.
