Men and women from McLeod County are honored for answering the call to duty in wartime and peace, with a charge never to let their sacrifice be forgotten. The remembrance spans the Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, operations in Panama, Grenada, and Lebanon, and the Persian Gulf War, and includes quoted words associated with several of those conflicts as well as counts of participants, those killed in action, those wounded in action, prisoners of war, and those missing in action.
