Camp Plymouth State Park in Ludlow is a 295-acre Vermont state park centered on 96-acre Echo Lake and used year-round for outdoor recreation, including swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, camping, horseback riding, wildlife watching, and winter sports. Its name comes from Camp Plymouth, a Boy Scouts of America camp that operated here from 1927 into the 1980s. Earlier, the property also served as a farm, a gold mine, and a girls' summer camp. Conserved in 1984 with help from the Ottauquechee Land Trust and opened to the public by the State of Vermont in 1989, it continues a long tradition of organized outdoor use with facilities for both day visitors and overnight stays.
