Designed by Cincinnati Music Hall architect Henry C. Hubbell, Loveland's public water works provided water service within Loveland and also supplied the large railroad tanks on the B&O and Pennsylvania Railways. In the days of steam locomotives, it was the only watering place between Cincinnati and Columbus, making Loveland an important railroad stop.
