Bickelhaupt Arboretum in Clinton, Iowa, is a 14-acre nonprofit public arboretum operated by Clinton Community College that began around the home of Bob and Frances Bickelhaupt, who gave it to the public in 1970. Created to show how hundreds of plants could thrive in the local climate and be properly cared for, it remains an educational living collection with plants grouped by genus and labeled individually. Its extensive holdings include major tree collections and an especially notable conifer collection with more than 600 accessions from 14 genera. The grounds also feature themed gardens, while the renovated Bickelhaupt House now supports events, research, workshops, and glass art display.
