Peter Stucky's Wagon Shop
Industry
Peter Stuckey was a farmer and a skilled craftsman who ran a wagon shop on his farm. Improvements in farming equipment, the help of grown sons, and the assistance of a hired man gave him time to repair and build wagons for neighbors. He was well known for a narrow wheel that moved wagons more easily through swampy ground. The income from the wagon shop increased the family's prosperity.
