Major Hulon Brocke Whittington, a retired U.S. Army officer of the 41st Armored Infantry, 2nd Armored Division, served his country from 1940 to 1963, received the Congressional Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, and was remembered with the words, "Preparedness is the only Road to Peace."
