Deep Creek Hot Springs
Nature
Deep Creek Hot Springs is a natural hot spring area in the northern Mojave Desert of Southern California’s San Bernardino National Forest near Hesperia. Set along Deep Creek in desert foothills beneath the San Bernardino Mountains, it is known for a broad boulder-strewn riparian corridor where desert chaparral, montane chaparral, piñon-juniper woodland, and conifer forest meet, creating varied habitat that includes the endangered Southwestern Arroyo Toad. The springs are a popular remote recreation site for soaking and bathing, reached only by hiking. Its appeal lies in both the hot water and dramatic landscape, though visitors also face hazards from unsafe water and contamination in the hot pools.
