Snow Valley Mountain Resort in Running Springs, California, within the San Bernardino National Forest, grew from Fish Camp, a site later developed by the Swetkowich brothers in the 1920s as a roadside resort and lumber mill. In the 1930s, Arrowhead Springs Corporation transformed the slopes for tobogganing and skiing, gave the resort its present name, and introduced one of the first overhead cable ski lifts. Bought by ski jump champion Johnny Elvrum in 1940 and later operated by the Nordic Group after 1974, it became the longest continually operating ski resort in Southern California. In January 2023, Alterra Mountain Company acquired it.
