Oakachoy Covered Bridge, also spelled Okachoy and known as the Thomas Covered Bridge, was a county-owned wooden covered bridge over Oakachoy Creek in Coosa County, Alabama. Built in 1916 by Melton Harris from homemade timber for $400, it used a modified Queen-post truss across a single 56-foot span, making it one of Alabama’s shortest covered bridges. The route linked Rockford and Dadeville and followed an older crossing still marked by pioneer wagon ruts. Listed on the Alabama Register in 1977 and the National Register in 1990, it was Coosa County’s last historic covered bridge until vandals burned it on June 2, 2001.
