Owner Bill Bradford legally willed this tree to itself on April 11, 1975, along with all land within a radius of 10 feet from its trunk, to insure its protection during its lifetime, and donated its use to the city of Bentonville as a mini-park in celebration of the heritage '76 phase of the bicentennial.
