Military
3
The monument honors Confederate soldiers of Brunswick, Georgia, and the Confederacy, portraying them as tried and true warriors who bore their nation’s flag, fell in a cause described as lost but still just, and died to repel unconstitutional invasion, protect rights reserved to the people, and perpetuate forever the sovereignty of the states. It was erected on April 26, 1902, by the Ladies Memorial Association of Brunswick, Georgia, as a tribute of love to the heroes of the Confederacy for the years 1861 to 1865.
