Soldiers who died in the Confederate General Hospital in Scottsville during 1862-1863 were remembered here by name and unit, representing companies from North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia artillery, and the burial ground was erected in 2001 by the Scottsville Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, citizens, and the Town of Scottsville.
