The Perrine Memorial Bridge spanning the Snake River Canyon was completed in July 1976 at a cost of $9,700,000. The arch structure is 1500 feet long, with the roadway approximately 480 feet above the Snake River, and it replaced a truss bridge built as a toll facility in 1927 at a cost of $650,000. The state of Idaho purchased the original bridge in 1940, and on May 31, 1940, it was dedicated to the memory of I. B. Perrine, called the Father of the Twin Falls Tract, whose effort and vision lifted the waters of the Snake and made the desert blossom as the rose. The bridge had earlier been dedicated by Mrs. I. B. Perrine on October 1, 1927.
