The Jellico area honors servicemen who gave their lives and veterans who served in defense of the country in armed conflicts known to man, including those whose names are inscribed and those known only to God, with a pledge that the community and nation never forget those who made the supreme sacrifice to ensure the continuance of liberty and a prayer that such sacrifices never again be required. The remembrance includes the dead of World War I, World War II, the Jellico troop train accident of July 6, 1944, the Korean Conflict, Vietnam, belatedly remembered service members from World War I, World War II, and Vietnam, and the Iraq War.
