Hazelhurst

Hazelhurst was named for the chief engineer of the first Jackson–New Orleans railway, and the last spike on that line was driven here on March 31, 1858. The town was raided by Grierson in 1863 and later served as a shipping point for cattle, truck crops, and lumber.
