Mueller Machine Shed
Industry
2
The Mueller Machine Shed was built in the 1870's, sided in sawn lumber, and originally stood on the farm of Werner Mueller, an early member of the Freistadt community, on Mequon Road one-quarter mile west of Granville Road. It was used to store farm machinery and vehicles, much as a garage protects vehicles from the weather and helps prolong their usefulness, and it also included an area for repairs. Originally, the work bench stood beneath the windows on the south side of the building to provide light for afternoon work. It was moved to its present location in the mid 1970's.
