Putney honors its men and women who served to protect its freedoms, listing those from the town who served in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Spanish American War of 1898, World War I, World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam Era, Desert Storm and Desert Shield, the Armed Forces from May 1975–2003, and the Global War on Terrorism, and identifies some of them as prisoners of war, killed in action, missing in action, disabled, or wounded; it was dedicated November 9, 2003.
