Built in 1940-1941 on a site furnished by the Independent School District, this house was created to serve McCamey Girl Scout troops and became the first stone veneer structure in McCamey. Its walls incorporated the Girl Scouts' prized rock collections along with stone hauled from Bobcat Hills by oil firm trucks and others, and its balcony woodwork was made of cedar from nearby canyons. The entire town worked together to obtain materials and erect the house, which became the setting for many cook-outs and overnight camps for Girl Scouts and also served as McCamey's social center from 1941 to 1950. An extension was added in 1964.
