Originally known as First Methodist Episcopal Church, Saint Mark's Methodist Episcopal Church stood from 1790 to 1942 and was recognized during the U.S.A. Bicentennial Celebration. The church is part of the Hedgesville Historic District, which was established in 1978, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a structure recognized by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
