Clermont Academy was the first place of higher learning in Clermont County. It arose from a woman’s dream and a man’s covenant with God, and it was built in the valley below by Rev. Daniel Parker’s family. The academy graduated 1500 students who entered many professions, and its first principal was James, their son, who founded the Teachers Institute of Clermont County.
