C.J. Strike Wildlife Management Area is a 10,664-acre protected landscape in southwestern Idaho around C. J. Strike Reservoir on the Snake and Bruneau rivers, southwest of Mountain Home. Managed by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game across lands owned by Idaho Power Company, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Bureau of Land Management, it is especially important for birdlife. Raptors are common because of its location near the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area, and winter brings large concentrations of waterfowl, including about 30,000 to 90,000 ducks and 5,000 to 12,000 Canada geese. In 2005, Idaho Power assumed management of its 3,000 acres near C. J. Strike Dam.
