Around 4 years old, Walt Disney moved with his family to Marceline and clearly remembered arriving there by train, being met by Mr. Coffman in his wagon, and riding out to their house in the country just outside the city limits, which he believed was called the Crane farm and which made a first impression on him with its beautiful front yard. The Disney family’s 1906 home still comprises the largest section of the current layout, and an addition was added in the 1980s to accommodate the needs of its current owner, with great care taken not to alter the original layout or hand-hewn features of the 1906 section of the home.
