The Disney family moved into this home in 1906 when Walt Disney was four years old and went with his family to live in Marceline. He clearly remembered arriving there by train, being met by Mr. Coffman in his wagon, and riding out to their house in the country just outside the city limits, which he believed was called the Crane Farm. His first impression was that it had a beautiful front yard. On the side of this house, Walt Disney painted with black pitch and talked his sister into adding big zigzags by promising it would come right off, though he later remembered that his family did not thank him for his efforts.
