The Parkview Hotel opened in May of 1901 under Hiram Holtzhouse in a location well suited to both travelers and local residents. Horses could be boarded in the stables behind the building, and trolley tickets could be purchased in the lobby for rides into Lancaster. For well over a century, the Parkview Taproom has thrived and outlasted every other original business around it.
