Arts & Culture
Born in Canton, New York, Frederick Remington was one of the greatest painters, sculptors, and illustrators of his time. His illustrations included scenes of the Spanish-American War, and Harper's Weekly printed his first cartoon in 1882. A contemporary of Frederick Bourne, he was able to watch the construction of the castle from his island studio just across the water on the island "Temagami," which he called Ingleneuk.
