Johnson Wax Headquarters has long served as the home of S. C. Johnson and Son in Racine, Wisconsin, centered on Frank Lloyd Wright’s Administration Building and Research Tower. Chosen by Herbert Fisk “Hibbert” Johnson Jr. after he rejected an earlier plan, Wright created one of his most celebrated corporate designs, with curved brick walls, glass-tube windows, and the great workroom’s distinctive flaring columns. The Research Tower extended the complex with a more experimental form. Over time the campus added the Golden Rondelle Theater, Fortaleza Hall, and a rotating globe. Honors and landmark status have affirmed the headquarters as both a working corporate campus and a major work of modern American architecture.
