Tennessee Pass crosses the Continental Divide between the Arkansas and Eagle rivers at an altitude of 10,424 feet. It was named from the Tennessee Fork of the Arkansas, was explored by Fremont and Kit Carson in 1845, and a railroad was constructed there in 1881.
