The Calhoun Depot was constructed in 1847 by the Western & Atlantic Rail Road, purchased by the City of Calhoun in 1990, received a roof donation from the Calhoun Woman's Club in 1991, and was renovated by the City of Calhoun in 1996/97 under construction project manager Councilman Paul McEntire. City officials in 1996/97 were Mayor John d. Meadows, III, Mayor Pro Tem John D. Shelton, Jr., Councilman Thomas H. Bond, Councilman Paul McEntire, Councilman James F. Palmer, and Councilman Ronald H. Woods.
