A reconstructed original chicken coop reflects how poultry houses were built to face south to take full advantage of the winter sun. Eggs were both consumed on the farm and bartered for merchandise at local stores. A photo shows David Halsey Hallock feeding his chickens around 1925 when he was close to 90 years old.
