Bald Rock Ranch was a site of Mi-Wuk Pow-Wows and the birthplace of Chief William Fuller. It was homesteaded by the John D. Williams family in 1865, purchased by A.T. Wood in 1919, and Twain Harte was named by Kerurah Ball in 1923.
