The Chapel at Longstreet was constructed in 2018 and held its first service on October 28, 2018, officiated by Clergyman Sherry Tonegan. It is a replica of Saint Stephens Catholic Church, originally built in the mining town of Belmont, Nevada, in 1874 at a cost of $3,000 and officiated by Rev. Father Monteverde. Belmont, established in 1864, was the original county seat of Nye County. In 1906, after Belmont's mines played out and Manhattan, Nevada, 16 miles west, was in its heyday, the church was disassembled, moved to Manhattan, and reassembled, where it remains today.
