Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site is a 732.75-acre Texas state park along the Pedernales River between Johnson City and Fredericksburg, created to honor Lyndon B. Johnson and opened in 1970. Begun with land donated to Texas in 1965 and planned by architect J. Roy White, it later expanded beyond its original dedicated acreage. A visitor center interprets Johnson’s life and serves tours of the neighboring Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park. The park also offers recreation, preserves Hill Country scenery and wildlife, and features the Sauer-Beckmann Farmstead, a living history farm presenting rural Texas life around 1918.
