Cypremort Point State Park is a 185-acre Louisiana coastal park on Vermilion Bay near the end of Louisiana Highway 319, set amid marshland and named for nearby Cypremort Point, a French term meaning “dead cypress.” Its most unusual feature is a half-mile man-made beach with roadside access to the Gulf Coast, alongside picnic areas, a fishing pavilion, a sailboat launch, a 100-foot fishing pier, and six cabins. The area is known for sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, crabbing, and fishing. In Chitimacha tradition, a great cypress here marked tribal land, and the park remains valued for both recreation and marsh wildlife.
