The Barboursville area World War Two honor roll records the names of the men and women of the community who served during the war and identifies with a star those who did not survive. The re-creation of the original honor roll was placed here through the efforts of Harvey Chapman, a Barboursville High School class of 1943 graduate, and the gifts of graduates of the 1953 and 1954 classes of Barboursville High School, with assistance from Mayor Paul Turman and the Village of Barboursville. It honors sacrifices that permitted later generations to obtain the education that shaped their lives.
