The U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Alabama is home of U.S. Space Camp and Aviation Challenge and traces the journey from the beginning of rocketry to today's Space Launch System, the replacement for the space shuttle, and beyond. Its collections include the original Mercury and Gemini capsule trainers, the Apollo 16 spacecraft that carried astronauts to and from the moon, and one of only three remaining Saturn V rockets in the world. The center also features one of the world's greatest collections of rockets and space memorabilia, along with interactive hands-on exhibits, public bus tours of Marshall Space Flight Center, space simulators, and an IMAX theater, offering first-class fun in an educational environment for all ages.
