Southern Pacific Caboose # 726 was built in 1916 in the Southern Pacific Oregon Brooklyn Yard, retired in 1965 by the Southern Pacific Railroad Co., and donated to the City of Salinas by the Gheen Family in memory of Betty Gheen.
