This building served as Bay City Hall and Fire Station from 1927 to 1963, then housed the Matagorda County Museum from 1965 to 1992, and later became Municipal Court in 1997. Its restoration and renovation were carried out by Bay City Community Development Corp., Bay City Gas Company, and the City of Bay City, and it was rededicated to the citizens of Bay City on November 5, 1997.
