Anna Wagner Keichline, a Bellefonte native, was the first woman registered as an architect by the state in 1920. An inventor, Cornell graduate, and women's suffrage advocate, she designed numerous buildings, including the Plaza Theatre here. She also served as a Special Agent in Army Intelligence during World War I.
