Hamblen County honors its men and women who fought in Desert Shield, Desert Storm, the Global War on Terrorism, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraq, and Afghanistan. It was erected and dedicated on Armed Forces Day 2008 by proud and honored citizens of Hamblen County, with the tribute closing with Milton’s words praising brave men and worthy patriots as dear to God and famous to all ages.
