Erected in 1912, St. Michaels' Parish Hall served members of St. Michaels' Church and the Frostburg community for the past 100 years. As St. Michael parish continued to grow at the end of the 19th century, a school was added in 1891, and the Parish Hall followed in 1912 during the tenure of Rev. Stephen J. Clarke. The hall served numerous functions as the school gym and as a venue for basketball games, plays, dances, dinners, and musical entertainment for the parish and local community. It was built on the former location of the original cemetery behind the church, after a new cemetery on Mount Pleasant Street opened in the last two decades of the 1800's. The building was condemned in 2014, and the City of Frostburg purchased the property from the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The city developed a parking lot there in 2015 with funding from the Department of Housing and Community Development Neighborhood Revitalization through the Strategic Demolition and Smart Growth Impact Fund. The bricks used to line the sidewalk were reused from the century-old Parish Hall.
