On October 20, 1977, a Lynyrd Skynyrd band airline crash left twenty survivors who received tremendous care from rescuers and caregivers at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Their team treated the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional needs of the survivors, their families and friends. The crash site claimed six lives that night, and enduring gratitude remains for the care given to the band members.
