Bear Mountain is a 3,219-foot summit in Bartlett, New Hampshire, in the White Mountains near Bear Notch. Bartlett Haystack rises across the notch to the northwest, while Table Mountain and Big Attitash Mountain lie to the east. Its slopes drain into two river systems: the north side by Louisville Brook and Albany Brook to the Saco River, and the south side by Douglas Brook and Cilley Brook to the Swift River, with Cilley Brook joining at Rocky Gorge. The mountain also preserves a trace of the area’s recreational past, having once had an alpine ski trail, and it is sometimes mistaken for the separate nearby Bear Peak at Attitash.
