Schramm Park State Recreation Area is a 331-acre day-use recreation area in southeast Nebraska along the north side of the Platte River in Sarpy County. Known for blending outdoor recreation with fish and wildlife education, it offers scenic nature trails, picnic areas, and the Schramm Education Center, where visitors can see fish, reptiles, amphibians, and insects. A defining feature of the site is the Gretna State Fish Hatchery, established in 1882 as Nebraska’s oldest fish hatchery and still an important part of the area, with its hatch house now serving as a fish hatchery museum.
