Blizzard Mountain Ski Area is a small, community-run ski hill in central Idaho near Craters of the Moon National Monument, about 18 miles southwest of Arco. Built on a treeless northeast-facing slope, it has a lift-served summit at 6,305 feet and a vertical drop of 710 feet, with wide views across the Snake River Plain. Service is simple, centered on a single platter lift, and operations are limited to Saturdays when conditions allow. Distinct from the higher summit of Blizzard Mountain to the west, the ski area is notable for its volunteer character and unusual setting beside a prominent volcanic landscape.
