Jones Island State Park is a marine park in Washington occupying all of Jones Island in the San Juan Islands, about 1 mile west of southwestern Orcas Island and reachable only by boat. Named in 1841 by the Wilkes Expedition for naval officer Jacob Jones, the 188-acre island has no resident population and is geared toward simple overnight use rather than development. It serves boaters and paddlers with a dock, 24 primitive campsites, about 4 miles of trails, and campsites reserved for non-motorized travelers on the Cascadia Marine Trail. The park is also known for unusually tame black-tail deer and for boating conditions shaped by tides, currents, depth, and weather.
