William Lenoir was a Revolutionary War soldier and patriot who served as a captain, lieutenant, and private in North Carolina, and later held civil offices as a justice, clerk of the court, and clerk for the Committee of Safety of Surry and Wilkes Counties, North Carolina. He was born in 1751 and died in 1839.
