Moscow Covered Bridge in Moscow, Indiana, carries a road over the Big Flat Rock River. Built in 1886 by Emmett L. Kennedy in Burr Arch form, its 334-foot, two-span length made it the third longest covered bridge in Indiana. As the town’s defining landmark, it inspired an annual festival and became central to local identity. That connection deepened after a tornado destroyed the bridge on June 3, 2008, prompting a rebuilding effort supported by public donations, recovered original timbers, and reconstruction to the same Kennedy design. The bridge reopened in September 2010 and had been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983.
