Forsythe Covered Bridge, also called Forsythe Mill Bridge, spans the Big Flat Rock River in southeastern Indiana near Rushville and Gowdy. Built in 1888 by Emmett L. Kennedy, it is one of the covered bridges associated with the Kennedy family firm. The bridge uses the Burr Arch design, combining an arch with a truss system, and stretches 196 feet across the river. Its rounded arch portals and decorative scrollwork are distinctive Kennedy features. Recognized for its historic and engineering significance, it was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1983 as part of a group of six Kennedy family bridges and was also documented by the Historic American Engineering Record.
